Founder Workshops: Session 1
Workshop 1A @ The Monkey Bar (1st floor)
“How to Build a Board that Adds Value Without Losing Control”, by Pat LaPointe (Chairman at Entrelliance, Managing Director at Frontier Angels)
Startup founders tend to either allow investors to shape their board or they try to stack it with "friendlies" to avoid losing control. Both paths inevitably lead to low-value-added boards that waste time and create drama for years. You don't need to defer to investors or hunker down and play defense; you just need to know how to recruit the right people, structure your board for real impact, set the right expectations, and run your meetings like a pro. This workshop from Entrelliance provides clear strategies and action steps to build a highly effective board to drive value for you and all shareholders, without compromising your influence or "control". Time to level up your boardroom game.
Workshop 1B @ The Arcade (6th Floor, next to Treehouse)

Rob Kaminski (Co-Founder of Fletch) has helped over 400 B2B startups develop their positioning strategies and translate those strategies into clear homepage messaging. In this session, Rob will break down Fletch’s startup positioning framework, the critical decisions founders must make to stand out, and the most common (and costly) positioning mistakes. The second half will be interactive, featuring live homepage teardowns where Rob will analyze real startup messaging in real time—turning Q&A into an opportunity for hands-on learning.
Workshop 2B @ The Arcade (6th Floor, next to Treehouse)
"Beyond the Pitch: Psychological Tools for Raising Capital", by Paul Kwiatkowski (Co-Founder at GroupRaise)
Raising capital is a series of asymmetric encounters, especially your first time. An investor will see hundreds more pitches than a founder will give. Paul Kwiatkowski wants to level the playing field. He will walk through a complimentary mix of high-level strategy tips for your process, and in-the-moment conversational tactics to guide investors into commitments. From how to choose which investors to target, to exact phrases to deploy in common situations, these are the parts of fundraising that get neglected when we hyper-focus on just refining our pitch.
